The Rev. Canon Rob Smith
Priest-in-Charge
The Rev. Dr. Canon Robin P. Smith became the Priest-in-charge of Trinity in January of 2011. A native of Hamilton, Ontario, he has a BA in English Literature from Gordon College, received his MDiv with a concentration in New Testament studies and counseling from Berkeley at Yale, and earned a DMin in Church Growth and Renewal from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Having served churches in Massachusetts, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky, he founded the Church of the Apostles in Coppell, Texas in 1989. He is the author of Leading Christians to Christ: Evangelizing the Church, Morehouse, 1989, and numerous articles. He has a devotional blog, http://domanselm.blogspot.com/, and you can find him on Facebook. Canon Rob loves art, classical music, travel, cooking, golden retrievers, and Chinese cooking. He and his wife Diana have been married since 1965 and have two grown children.
The Rev. Phil Snyder
Deacon
Deacon Phil Snyder was ordained in 2004 and has served Trinity Episcopal Church since its rebirth in July of 2010. A computer programmer in the health insurance field during the week, he sees his employment as an extension of his ministry as a Deacon. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems (summa cum laude) from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1990 and a Degree in Ministry from the Anglican School of Theology in 2004. Outside of his congregational duties, he is active in the Kairos Prison Ministry and the Cursillo Movement. His other interests include reading, cooking, and watching his son, Joseph, play football.
Parish Secretary
Nanci is the first person you meet when visiting the church office and has been a part of Trinity for ten years. She attended McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. Nanci is married to Ken and together they have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 loveable dog.
Janet Page
Christian Education Director
Janet Page has been a high school assistant principal in the Mesquite Independent School District for 10 years, after fourteen years of teaching high school and middle school history and geography. She is beginning her first year as assistant principal at Wilkinson Middle School in Mesquite in fall 2011. Janet graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a bachelor of arts in History in 1986. Her master of science in Educational Administration was awarded in 1995 at Texas A&M, Commerce. She is currently pursuing a certificate of ministry from the Stanton Center for Ministry Formation and has recently begun the process of discernment for ordination to the diaconate.
